Author Topic: brutal honesty  (Read 3259 times)

It gets on my loving nerves. It's not being spoiled, it's being honest and sharing your feelings.
Just because other people don't have the things you have doesn't mean you should just sit back and deal with it. You can still strive to be better.
Society these days is so hypocritical
Lying is an important part of society, people aren't meant to be completely honest with each other.
And wow that whole deal with it thing is just sad.
"oh no the gift I was given by my parents wasn't expensive and trendy enough I shouldn't have to deal with this"
You are literally complaining that you already have more than you need but that's not good enough for you because you already have so much and need more.
Woe is you, go outside and get some perspective.

That's called being an starfish.

Age: 15
Got a lot of learning to do kid.

in fact, lying kind of shows that you care for people's feelings by not hurting them when you lie and tell them that you're enjoying the gift they just gave you, for example.

and even if you do a bad job and make it obvious that you actually don't like the gift then at least it doesn't hurt as much as telling them outright that you hate their gift and they can't really be mad at you.

I don't wanna bring religion into this, but I'd just like to say that the Bible says that although lying is wrong, being courteous and kind, showing respect and consideration for your fellow man is a must.

It calls for use of judgment and tact to not screw things up, if you see what I'm getting at.

so why do hardcore christians hate gays and people of other faiths

Because "hardcore Christians" are hateful and ignorant of the Bible, and in general, which is why I do not follow the masses or whatever you wanna call them.

And a lot of other times its people who mis-translate a Christians belief 80% of the time into hate.

Just because Joe Christian thinks its a sin DOESN'T mean he's making a statement of hate.

THEN you have starfishs like Westboro baptist church

Basically, ITT: starfishs general.

I know quite a few diehard christians who are tolerant people altogether. It's a matter of bigots misinterpreting religious values and sermons to justify and reinforce their bigotry.

Pretty much.

Just say thank you.  Concealing information is not a bad practice.

Don't start this.
Why do hardcore anyone do anything? Because they're hardcore, that's the stuff they do devoid of the religion or whatever they are using to express it.

Hushushush, it's okay, it's already been ended.

This. Not sure why people still think such generalization of an entire religion (or any group of people) is even a valid argument.

OP, what you need is tact, as others have been saying. If you can't display any, then a "thanks" or silence is your next best option (don't make it an uncomfortable silence, though, that'd only worsen things).
