I never knew about this until today, but apparently Microsoft (in collaboration with Internet Explorer) has remade their old
Hover! game from 1995 with better graphics, new sounds, and a single short looping up-beat tune that's louder than the game sounds!
If you want to try it for yourself, play it here
http://hover.ieIn this version, you can play singleplayer or multiplayer and choose from 3 different vehicles, and play 3 different levels, there is no more rear view mirror and no more points, but you can now zoom in and out of your map for whatever reason
FUN FACT: Typing 'bambi' on the main menu will let you play the first level of the original Hover! (complete with Windows 95 desktop with clickable icons)
Though there's some things i don't like about this, like the aforementioned looping up-beat tune, it's the only song that plays, it's louder than some of the game audio and it's really noticeable when the song loops
Also the AI is really really bad, i know it's a recreation, but i think they take even longer to collect your flags than in the original game, they could have added in an option for difficulties, IMO
Then there's this glitch where the hovercrafts will just get sucked into a wall and fall below the level
After i fell outside the level, i found out where my adversary disappeared to, he's just spinning around underneath my flag, but then i see something in the distance just past him,
it's another him, but it's motionless, stuck in mid-air just outside of a wall!
So what do you guys think of this re-creation?
