There are some sockets that will only accept incandescent bulbs or certain types of bulbs.

Some LED's are really bright and nice for lighting up really dark areas, some are stuffty. That blue light they emit is kind of annoying, yellow light is easier on some people's eyes.

I have seen 'natural color' fluorescent lights for sale. Halogens have a nice temperature to them (color wise), and I think they last a while too.

Incandescent bulbs are such a waste of energy, about only 10-20% of the electricity they use are converted to light energy, the other as useless heat energy - there goes your energy bill over the roof. Not only that but they burn out as quickly as forget. They were the best invention before they discovered sliced bread, but it's a good thing this is happening now.

That's because of the exposure to the yellowish light for most of people's lives.
