I don't fish, I always wanted to try it, my dad says it's really boring. Do any of you guys fish? What's the appeal if so?

i hunted bluefin tuna to near extinction with my bear hands if that counts

Your dad says its boring because it requires patience. I go fishing all the time with my friends and its pretty enjoyable.
It feels really achieving catching a giant bass or something.

more repetitive than.. anything

Fishing takes tons of patience.
My dad loved to fish and I kind of enjoy it if its a warm day.

I suppose its appealing if you fish for your own food but when my dad used to fish he'd catch one and then throw it back.

catching a fish is pretty satisfying. also i like casting.

But have you tried it? don't you catch different fishies?

Don'tcha call that fishing for sport?

in the summer i usually go sea fishing for markel or roaches, carps, and pikes in fresh water.

What's that?

You're dad is an impatient douchebag then, All fathers should take their sons fishing at LEAST once.

He doesn't understand the joy of seeing a fish's life flash before his eyes while he dangles in front of your hot, sweaty body.

Casting is when you throw the line into the water.

you should try googling questions before you ask them on the forum.

Why'd ya have to go the extra mile to call my dad names :c

Meh, I just have strong opinions towards Father/Son relationships. For some reason it's been like that since mine abandoned me. I didn't mean to offend anybody.

But have you tried it? don't you catch different fishies?

No. You catch zero fishies. I've gone fishing dozens of times and I've caught maybe two or three fish in my lifetime, all of which have been little tiny forgeters that aren't satisfying at all.

It sure as hell requires a stuffton of patience. Something about sitting on a boat for an hour with my line sitting in the water just doesn't do it for me, it feels like such an immense waste of time. Maybe if I was doing something productive while I was fishing it might be more enjoyable, but at that point it wouldn't really be fishing, it'd be doing something else while waiting.
