Author Topic: What would be a car known as the "Vortex" [Moved to Vehicle's Topic]  (Read 15574 times)

I still think you could make it fit more into the style of the game, take a look at other blockland cars for example, it looks like a port to me

Yeah. I really don't care if it looks "Blocko" or not. He did a excellent job modeling this and I'd love to use this for drifting. This looks like one of the Vehicles from Initial  D series. No joke.

TIP: Edit windows. Paint them a grayish color...

The thing is, Blockland have it's model style of low poly flat shaded (with certain parts smooth shaded to remove the triangulation) models, an entire smooth shaded high detailed model would not fit into the game well, for example, port a car into the game

Yeah... I think you got my point, I mean this subaru model looks excellent and very well made, but I'm really sure it won't fit for Blockland unless he makes a blocko representation of it which we do with vehicles and other add-ons alike, and I'm really sure I've heard that high poly models like this can conflict with the game's engine and perfomance

Well. Make a map out of Prints... Like use print baseplates-Then maybe it will go well.

It is the subaru from this site. All I did was import the actual car into blender, and did a complete new model with a major butt-load less detail, re-faced it due to it looking "A tad bit HD", and made it blocko the best I could by doing so. I've put a lot of time in this, and I'm absolutely not sure now where the hell to update it to make it more "Bloko"!

You're right on this, and that's what I've did. Most of the whole car is flat shaded, and a few bits of this car is smooth to make it not look stupid in the render (Seriously this is a percaussion/test. I have no freaking clue on how it's going to turn out in-game.), but once again: This is not a port for blockland. I've taken the model from the site you've gave me, put it in blender and made a less "HD" type of model.

But here's the thing, it's absolutely not like that high-poly Peugeot. It may not look completely stupid when it's smooth shaded everywhere, but I only smoothed it in a few spots it needed to be in.

that subaru model looks lovey

Now that's something I like to hear! :D

This car is 10/10.

But similar to what Filipe was saying. Try to decide where you wanna go with the side if you wanted to make them rounder or flatter, is up to you honestly, but try and focus on the interior before touching up the exterior.

I know it's not a port and I know you made this model, but it will look like a port once you add it on the game instead of an actual blockland car

Well I have to re-face the whole car in blender 2.49 (where the dts exporter is), bc the faces that have more than 4 vertices implement triangles making the car look crappy. Thus bloko improvements are being commenced!

Well... For people that don't care if it looks like it was ported from another game, not saying it is ported. Keep this version, but make a second variant that IS blocko.

This model is beautiful.

He is making it blocko now.

Too many vertices on some faces. I hope we can see some picture of the car soon.

You will my friends :)

Ok guys I've re-faced and deleted many vertices on blender 2.49. I am here to present to you one of the final updates for the vortex exterior. It's not I'm not going to give a crap on what you guys advise me to do for the future, but haven't you have heard of having faith in me for once? I'm wanting to see how this turns out in blockland, and THEN go back and tweaking it if needed.

You may notice instantly that there's a big butt-load of changes. I've mainly [100%] focused on the front and side, and a little bit on the back. The front once again mostly because it's round as heck up there, and I've finally fixed it with the perfect solution!

Once again, this is one of the final updates for the Vortex. Your advice was helpful, pleasing, and thankful, but it's time to get to the ku-de-grah of the car getting in this car in the universe of Blockland. I'll tweak the model if necesary, but I'm now focused on getting into blockland.

just asking, but, is it possible to make a rally verison of it?
