Author Topic: What would be a car known as the "Vortex" [Moved to Vehicle's Topic]  (Read 15567 times)

Here's something I want to ask actually. I know everying about making vehicles EXCEPT for these questions:

1) What are the materials for vehicles?
I ask this because I've been looking and studying all of the materials in vehicle.zip folders, and from what it looks like: Blank is the color of the vehicle, and black 25 50 and 75 make darker versions of the color of the whole car. The other materials I don't understand
Here's some of the questions, and what I think what material means what here.

And this is an example on what the Vortex could look like in-game ATM.

2. Do wheels and the exploding deaht of a car need wheel collision boxes?
Pretty self explanatory. I know the car itself needs to be a convex box mesh, but I'm not sure on these ones

3. Is the explosion and final explosion the same model, and this model completely black.

That's all for now, and if these questions get answered, then progress on getting the final step will be made. I'm re-doing the whole interior at the moment as we speak.

EDIT: 50th post!!!

Blank.png - Main colour for your vehicle
Black25.png - Makes the main colour slightly darker - I normally use it for the interior
Black50.png - Makes the main colour dark - I normally use it for the seats fabric
Black75.png - Makes the main colour really dark - Normally I use it for the underside of the car

These materials are recolourable. They should be kept separate from non-recolourable materials, otherwise things will get messy for users who are playing without shaders.

Black.png - Black material
Gray25 - Darkest grey - Good for plastics, rubber and whatnot
Gray50 - A slightly lighter shade of grey
Gray75 - Lightest grey - Good for chrome bits

white, red, orange, etc should be self-explanatory.

Wheels, wreckage models don't require collision meshes.

Explosion model is the regular model turned black by the game, so you don't have to set that up. The final explosion model is the wreckage model. It is a separate model which you can alter to your heart's liking.

Thank you so much! You may have also just solved an old problem of mine when I tried making vehicles before I actually came on the forums and what-not.

GUYS! THE VORTEX HAS MADE IT SUCCESSFULLY INTO BLOCKLAND WITH NO CRASHES! There are several known bugs/issues right now, but I will fix many of those issues asap!

EDIT
Pretty Pictures

This is one of the final updates for the Vortex. For known facts: It goes 99 mph from this speedometer, it has suspension similar to the NewJeep, and it steers not that badly (It's like a mixture of the new steering system and those other cars).

Nice. I saw the In-game pictures and noticed-the wheels might be too tall... It's not one of those gangster sedans is it? *joke* But yeah-It looks kind of tall...

That's a mixture of the wheel AND the height it's at (Springs).

Oh! Okay-Say... How is the drifting idea going out?

Alright, I'm really late on this, since I never even heard about this until now. That Subaru looks Amazing! The only thing that I would say is that You might wanna make it Slower, and Dat Orange Interior :/

It used to drift fantasticly. I say used to because I made it stop atm. I'll make another script sooner or later with another model for it.

Making it slower is what I'm trying to do. And it ain't orange. Daz brown mai boy.

Kk, My bad on Interior. Can't really tell on my Computer.

Why not make the interior grayscale?

Why not make the interior grayscale?
Well you gotta put some color into it ya know?

OHHH CHAMPION, DEATH THE KID; Lookie what I got!

I think it's also obvious which is which

There was a bug where it hated mod terrain bricks, but it was the way the collision box was shaped AND the suspension! Heads up guys. The vortex is coming soon!!!
