"Hey. Clay got his arm cut right the forget up when he tried to pull me out, and I don't know why Haythem's on breather. He said he needed help breathing."
I lay back down and groan.
"My legs. My loving legs. I might be grounded for the rest of my life. That would suck."

"I got to Jacov first. I was helplessly pulling him out when Clay here pulled him out, getting a shard in his arm. I carry Jacov to the truck and help Clay to the truck.

Too much adrenaline to notice I wasn't breathing air."

"Yeah, so Jacov, I almost died of not breathing, barely, any oxygen. I still feel dizzy!" I hear Jacov talk about his legs, "The doctors will fix them."

"Oh, that explains a lot."

I realize that I'm lucky I didn't get injured further. Had the roosterpit bent further enough I would have been crushed rather than protected.

"Damn, I watched that all happen too. I was taxiing to the runway and had to hold to you could land, but then you crashed and they had me go to a different runway.

"Yes, that's such a travesty compared with the fact that I nearly loving died. All sarcasm aside, it sucks being forced to sit and watch something happen. Back when I was younger, maybe 2008 or so, I saw a rollover accident. My dad got out to hel, my mom forbade me from helping."

"Just be glad you were close to base a hospital." I walk over to a window and watch as jets scream into the air.

"Yeah, no stuff. I'm glad I'm alive, I'd hate to see the tattered remains of my family torn apart."

The constant drooping of my right wing made the trip back home unusually exhausting. After parking the F-16 in the maintenance hangar, I wash up and head straight to the on-base hospital.

The door to Steele's room was wide open, and I peeked inside before stepping across the threshold.

"I heard all the details about the incident. How are you holding up?"

"Yeah, I am doing fine, thanks!" I say, sarcastically. I know he directed that question to Jacov. "How was the mission that I missed?"

also btw i rely wun me a-10bc :)

I ignore Haythem's peanut gallery remark and answer his question.

"Better than expected, actually. The city didn't quite make it through unscathed, but as far as I could tell damage was kept to a minimum."

Another big boom. A bomb drops on Ramond. This time, I'm lucky and avoid the blast. I head back to base, in disbelief.

Err you have one.

I didn't get shot down
I got hit bad
Wing snapped off at the last second
My plane bit the dirt (and I nearly did as well).

forgeted up, sorry :(

"I'm holding up well. Still in loads of pain, but other than that I'm doing well.

"...wait a second. Does anyone else hear that?"
A low rumbling sound is audible, and then a large mushroom cloud appears outside the window.
"...Oh no. Not again. And the worst part? I think we're next."
