A missile streaks from the fighter as my shots impact his tail areas. I pull and dump chaff, the missile, already being launched from an awkward angle, misses.

I waggle my wings at the Nerverak fighter as I pass, and finally process what Haythem says.

"Thanks, I owe you one...

...wait what the forget are you doing, you're air to ground! You realize your in the middle of a massive formation of bombers?! Have you gone insane?!"

I look at my altimeter and realize I've climbed high above the fight. I pitch over and head for the bombers below.

I am floating down on my parachute messing with the survival pack I was issued.  Inside is a handy little service pistol, some boxes of ammo, K rations, and a whole lot of gum.  "I can use the gum to patch up my jet," I joke to myself as I find a flare gun at the bottom.  "Now we're getting somewhere..."

Morning, I meant I shot at a jet that was going on Xavier while he was on you.

Like a sandwich. I did not hit you.

Morning, I meant I shot at a jet that was going on Xavier while he was on you.

Like a sandwich. I did not hit you.

I shot Morning's plane.

"Hey, I do what I gotta do. Besides, this gun is a living beast and without me you would've died." I pull up, and then I start picking at the bombers, sometimes turning upside-down so Danna can shoot some of them with her turret. "Besides, the CS Falcon is currently, excuse me, raping the beach."

"I wouldn't go as far as to say I would die now,"

I dive on the bombers, line one up, and fire. A huge sheet of flame erupts from its wing. It falls away.

"Holy stuff, I don't think we're gonna be able to get all of them! Blackwater, what's the status of the evacuation?"

"Evacuation is over eighty percent complete, hold them off a little longer."

I go for another run. A cut loose one of the bomber's engines. The bomber plummets under the weight of its payload. Another bomber looses it's wingtip to my cannon. It rolls away and falls out of the sky. I go for another bomber, but my gun jams.

"Damn to hell! That's it! I'm done! My gun's jammed and I'm out of all other ordnance. Blackwater, permission to RTB,"

"Negative Tempest, you cannot return to base. Head east and egress from the battle zone."

I sigh and get altitude back, and use supercruise to quickly cross the battlefield. I search for Clay's B-1B on radar, eager to see if they are still flying.

Upon landing, I shoot my flare up into the sky.  The streak of orange shoots up and explodes into smaller dots of red.

"Haythem, I just saw a flare go up into the sky."

"Hahaha, I think the CS Falcon is going to think it is a target."

Dammit, I can't afford to spend any more time on this fight. I lock onto the bandit high off-boresight and release an all-aspect IR flavor AIM-9X. The missile veers sharply with its vector thrust tail kit and cuts deep across the turning circle. It explodes right above the roosterpit, sending the Hornet down a plummeting spiral.

Not even stopping to take a glance, I pitch up and climb high to position myself above the bombers. By the time I reach altitude I notice Jackson abruptly ending his gun run and cutting away from the scene. His announcement rings over the radio. One less pilot to fend off the invading force.

The escorts below are still largely in disarray. Seizing the opportunity, I dive on the flight of bombers and depress the trigger, sending volleys of high-explosive cannon rounds on target. The initial burst tears through a fuel tank, causing the wing to snap in half as the bomber begins rolling uncontrollably. I continue the run and manage to bring down the rest of the group.

The ammo counter on my HUD reads just a little over 200. I still have three Sidewinders and another AMRAAM, altogether enough to tackle at least one other flight. However, before I could move on, another Hornet latches onto my tail and fires off a missile.

I watch as (insert nozoners character here) is having a bit of trouble, so I send one of my Sidewinders at the bandit. He dumps flares, and does a maneuver that lets (instert nozoners character here) behind him.

I throw off the missile and watch as a friendly sidewinder forces the bandit to evade. I immediately swoop around and turn the tables before finishing him off with another sidewinder of my own.

"Haythem, glad to see you could help..."

I thought about lashing out at him, but I let it go.

"... Save the last heater for yourself and get back to the beachhead. Too many other people need your help right now."

Lars Green, Swat, Nozoner's character is named Lars Green.

"Fox three."

I pull the trigger and three AMRAAMs zoom from the Sukhoi to the plane in front of me, sending it down in a fireball. Not one sign of a parachute is seen as it plummets to the Earth before hitting the runway, scattering shrapnel across the base.

"Splash one."
I nod as Ian's voice comes over the radio, and another fighter streaks by. "After him." Ian points, and I fire my GAU-22/A in his direction. The enemy pilot quickly performs an aileron roll to dodge the machine gun fire, but a stray round rips through the roosterpit of his Boeing. As I float by, what remains is the bottom half of what used to be a human being.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spot Haythem chasing a fighter chasing Xavier, who is chasing another fighter. I shrug, and spot a Nerverak bomber making a beeline for the barracks. I quickly intercept and fire the last of my AMRAAMs. "Fox four."

The bomber splits in half as the missiles rip through it, sending shrapnel flying through the air. The two halves spin and converge, igniting the remaining fuel in the tanks. The plane goes down without the telltale sign of a parachute, and the wreckage goes down in the open field to the east of the barracks. "Splash two. Should we land to rearm?"

I shrug. "We could guard Xavier. He needs the help."
Ian nods, and I push the throttle forward, engaging the afterburner.

I try to strike up a conversation with the barbecue guy, who I managed to convince Gray to take aboard.

OOC: Coma my character is egressing from thr battlefield at high altitude. Theres no reason to guard Xavier.
