Author Topic: Steam going offline and online?  (Read 1820 times)

So recently for some odd reason Steam keeps on going online and offline.

Does anybody else have this? I've tried exiting and re-connecting but it doesn't seem to work, every now and then I just keep losing connection just for it to come back on a while later.

nevermind back up all of a sudden

Bump.

Issues going on with Steam, for me at least.

ddos
Everything's being DDoS'd lately

The transition from 2013 to 2014 has been pretty fantasmical

ddos
I should've known.

I'm guessing the DDoS is also slowing down multiplayer games too?

steam was down for maintenance earlier

Isnt there some script kiddie group going around DDoSing a bunch of things?

I think this is them. At least they're claiming it's them.

They're dumbasses for telling the entire world like they're proud. How are they not arrested like lolsec yet?

They will be soon if they keep it up. IIRC, the person behind that page has already posted his name and the state he lives in, its only a matter of time until he pushes it too far.

They only DDoS the things they say they do, Steam is just under heavy load :/. Whoever these guys are they have the resources to DDoS something and keep it down until they stop, Steam has been on and off the past few days which points to it having nothing to do with these guys at the very least.

As I asked before, does that also slow down multiplayer servers?

Recently i've tried joining one of my favorite Gmod servers but everytime I spawn I lag horribly as if my internet was failing and steam goes offline and back online a couple times, and even then right before it joined it said I had a ping of 181, but I wouldn't have lagged as horribly as I did even if it was 230. It was also the same with Half Life 2: Deathmatch.

they would have to ddos every host of every gmod server to stop the multiplayer for the game
