Welcome! In order to change your avatar you must head over to the "PROFILE" button, and press the "Forum Profile Information" button on your left hand corner and you'll see something where it allows you to upload the picture file.

Yeah i know this is a pointless file :( anyone knows how to put a picture on your profile

to change your avatar you need to first have a 75x75 jpeg or png file (gif if you're feeling really fancy). you click the profile button up at the top of the page and look under the box on the side that says "modify profile." from there you'll click on "forum profile information." the space you want is this:



make sure that "i will upload my own picture" is selected and then click the "browse..." button. now you just open up the image you want to use for your avatar, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click "change profile." sometimes it takes a while for it to update, so don't panic if you don't see results immediately.

also, as boink said, we usually call them "threads" or "topics" instead of files.
