DoSing is literally as easy as downloading a program, entering an ip and hitting a button. Just get multiple people to do it and you got a DDoS. anyone over 11 years of age with a fair knowledge of the internet SHOULD be able to do this.
No it isn't. If it were that easy then RTB and the rest of you should invest in better internet connections and hardware, possible a wired connection (CAT6) which will provide a 1Gb connection if your provider doesn't throttle you at that speed.
While we're on the topic of upgrades, RTB should close port 19, because a lot of UDP flood attacks (the type of attacks being used against blockland servers) are of the Chargen type.
The only problem is that we don't have enough information to report them.
Correct. These attacks will be coming from spoofed IP addresses, which is when the sender of the packet is being edited using raw packets, either on a Linux operating system or Windows XP (sp2- because Windows no longer supports raw sockets above sp2+).
