You can see at the hands that they have a darker color of skin

Is this how it's supposed to look, or is my BL having a problem

Check the color of the hands and compare them with the color of the head.

If they're the same, I really have no idea unless it's the lighting.

I just tried it out; it appears if I look a certain direction I get the same results as the OP.
Probably just the lighting.
