Author Topic: Punch Packet spam in my RTB server console  (Read 861 times)

Can't tell if it's a ddos or what, but...

It's happening like once every 3 seconds. Any explanation?

I posted this in GD so I can edit the picture out if I'm not allowed to post IPs, not sure the rule on that but I doubt there's anything against it considering they're all anonymous.

127.0.0.1 isn't that telnet?

local host nvm

pretty sure that's the RTB server which is even more confusing to me.

how does that work? 127.0.0.1 is your computer
and those 192 addresses are local addresses from your network
possible that the server is constantly updating with the master server and RTB to check it's connection status?

hosting from RTB?

im kinda confused so im not sure where to come from about this

Every time I've ever hosted I've gotten similar spam.
I wish pings didn't have to show up in console.

I'm seeing many repeats. I think it's just a bunch of people who want to get into your server but can't connect.

I'm experiencing similar affects to when we where being dosed by MoR.

It has to do with UPnP, the repetition is probably failure to connect.

This is normal. It's trying to negotiate a connection.

I don't actually know what these punch packets are. UPnP is disabled by default on all RTB servers whenever they boot and IPs like 192.168.0.7 and 192.168.1.66 are clearly internal (and don't exist) while 127.0.0.1 is the loopback. I'll ask Badspot at some point and get some more information.
