Author Topic: School-Issued Tablets  (Read 1724 times)

My school issued out Dell Latitude 10 tablets for all freshmen and sophomores today.
There's a website blocker AND constant monitoring, so no bad things. I can still download games, though.
What should I do with it?

Here's some proof in case you aren't believing yet: http://www.ccisd.net/departments/communications/district-news/2013/06/17/ccisd-launches-latitude-to-learn

you should probably just take a picture because people are going to know exactly where you are most of the week

is it android? cause you could just install custom firmware

download a vpn for it.
re-install windows or run linux on it

School is thinking about giving us really cruddy Chromebooks.
screw that. :/

That would just stop the website blocking.
I'm sure he'd get in trouble if he reinstalled the OS.

My school required iPads as of a few quarters ago
They gave a scholarship that paid for it in full to all full-time students
It's not really used much in my program other than viewing e-books that we switched to now instead of printed copies

Are these tablets considered property of the schools, or are they just given to you and you get to keep it and do what you want with it?

My school gives out iPads to their staff because it saves money and paper to look over documents, and to jot down notes.
