Because a game forcing you to be active is a bad game. I don't see why anyone should die and lose their stuff when they aren't even playing.

If I get the server It'll probably be a 50 player unless I decide to spend a little more for a 100 but I don't really know how populated it'll get.
But that's like... motivation to make sure you're safe when you log out, and the point of the game is to build a base... It also completely prevents logging out during a fight.

It's an interesting concept but honestly I really don't care for it. If it was like a temporary thing where your body was only there for a few minutes that'd be fine. That being said, not everyone can play as much as someone else and this game is already pretty bad about giving an advantage to people who have more time to play.

People have jobs, school, and other things in their lives and they shouldn't have to put those on hold for Rust. That'd just be silly. Sleepers has many more cons than it does pros. If your internet goes out while you are playing you could be found and killed. Same for if the server goes down while playing and when you come back a little later someone got on before you and found you. It's literally more of a frustration than anything.

If a server goes down or restarts your sleeper disappears until you log back in and out

The rest of my argument is still valid though.

Maybe, but still imo people overreact to sleepers. Have you ever played on a sleeper server before?

Once but I didn't play it for very long. The main server I played on did not.

But honestly it all comes down to how I want my money to be spent.

You should just try one some time. It's not like you have to worry about what's going on in your main server because you can just put all your stuff in your inventory and log out...

My main server went down for good. I don't know why you want me to play on a sleeper server so badly. It's not like some big difference except that you can lose all your stuff when someone raids you if you're asleep. Which it's not like it's hard to raid someone's house at all (unless it's metal).

so he can steal all your stuff

so he can steal all your stuff
But I use that for pooping.

Unless some serious convincing were to happen I'm pretty sure no sleepers is the way to go. I don't support combat logging and I will do what I can to ban those who do if possible. It's too much of a hassle on me and other players who aren't a part of a huge group to watch over their base every couple of hours.

If that's your way of thinking then shouldn't you be doing that already? Even when you're logged out your base is prone to being attacked. A sleeper would be just like another box in your base except it doesn't magically disappear when you decide to leave the server. The only time a sleeper would be "unfair" is if you were out of your base and suddenly had to go. But in that case, you really shouldn't leave the house with too valuable of stuff anyway. But I can see how it would be frustrating.

I just found out there is a limited sleepers mod that allows me to set a timer to how long your body is out. Any thoughts on this? Also I have the server and I'm configuring it.

Server is set up so I figured I'd bump the topic.

It's a 50 slot 24/7 server. We need players to get things started and I'll do what I can to help anyone get started.

pls do join because fun game

I played Rust with Colten a couple weeks ago. It's kind of fun even though it's extremely early in development.
