ugh no it was terrible.
All the boring parts take up the majority of the film and any interesting or suspenseful parts go by in a couple minutes.
Watch a different Kubrick movie.
I thought it was setting up an environment that would also feel like an experience and I liked it
I thought the long shots of the scenery was stunning, and they're long because they're meant to leave space so you can breath when a suspenseful part does happen
And daww come on it works perfectly for you. "I'm sorry,
Devo, I'm afraid I can't do that."
But hey, if you don't like it, you don't like it, and at the least I'm pretty sure you've dabbled quite a bit in Kubrick Movies yourself. I think many movies deserve a second watch however and maybe you could try it again with a more critical eye or something like that. I said this before but I didn't like Nausicaa of the Wind and I have yet to attempt to rewatch it, and hey, since everyone else likes it, either there's something that I missed the first viewing or maybe I just won't like it again. I forget which Hitchrooster movie that people had a hard time watching at first, I
think it was Vertigo, and they said that after a second run they enjoyed it.
