do they like, not realize that so many other football teams (however minor they may be) also have native american based names? the mascot for the schools here is the seminole tribe, our homecoming opponent was the mohawk tribe, etc
it's dumb imo to try to force a team to change their name because it's supposedly offensive
the struggle for political correctness in everything (non-binary gender representation, racial representation, avoiding cultural appropriation, etc) has become ridiculous with how upset people get over a minor slip up. use he/she in a text? forget you, you're obviously only supporting binary genders. cosplay a person of color when you're a white person? forget you, you can't portray that character correctly and you're trying to whitewash them (bonus negativity if you try to use makeup to change your skin color to match the character's)
it's absurd and, in many cases, goes too far
