red orchestra 2 if you're looking into realism, realism mode for the best experience. I don't know if there are any like it that's in the present era (other than Arma 2 but holy hell it gets boring running through a forest to get to a small battle where you die after a couple of seconds to do it all again)
RO2 and Insurgency are extremely similar. We can safely say Insurgency is the modern equivalent of Red Orchestra 2. I'd say go for it, I got it and it's better than Ghosts or Battlefiled 3 in my opinion. It may not look better, it may not have a better community or huge maps or vehicles or killstreaks or whatever things 10 year olds get baited by but it's a very good game.
And yeah, I hate games where you need to walk 10 minutes, have "tight coordonation" with teammates and then die in 10 seconds for any reason.
