Author Topic: Lost BL Key; e-mail that it was tied to was deactivated permanently by AT&T  (Read 2868 times)

Although this is irrelevent, so do I, although I heard that one of the "angry parents" complaining about explicit words being used in the chat that appeard in Badspot's post, "Mailbag 2," was actually some troll that was pretending.

On Topic:

I'm dialing AT&T right now, and if I don't get a solution, the only solution I find appropriate will attempt to guess the last part of the key over and over again until I hit a perfect match. Which will take a ridiculously long time, but I'll probably just attempt to do it every now and then.

A blockland key goes like this: "XXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"
not
"XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"

Yeah, I know. I already corrected myself. Now it looks a little something like this:

OOOOO-XXXX-OOOO-OOOO

I'm just missing that very first 4-character sequence. I actually did some calculations and I've about given up on trying to guess it on my own, because there is just so many possible permutations.

Good news, though; I have an old harddrive that has Blockland activated with my key! I want to see if it is possible to extract the key from the Blockland game; maybe it is stored in the config file? Who knows, we'll have to check it out later. Hopefully, if I do acquire the key, I will find better ways to store my key.

I don't know if it will work but you could possibly put they key.dat into the blockland folder you want.

The hard drive alone is useless, the key is stored encrypted and you can only decrypt it with the same network adapters.

I will try to experiment with this solution soon. If I get any good results I'll let you guys know.

It will not work if the key.dat was created on a different computer.

Damn.

I've sent some PM's to support specialists at the official AT&T support website. I've yet to get a response in the e-mail. I am still trying to get ahold of AT&T over the phone, but I am constantly busy due to school so that will have to wait.

I'll update you guys if I am successful.

You should check your PMs here.
