Author Topic: SUGGESTION: Disable Crosshair  (Read 2185 times)

I've been wondering for a while if this is actually possible?
For a while, I've been working on a couple projects where being able to disable the crosshair could make for a neat little effect...

Thoughts?

As in, being able to disable it by code or events?
Because i know that pressing F5 hides the crosshair, but by code, i wouldn't be too sure.

I'm fully away that F5 disables the crosshair/player names, but what I'm suggesting is a code to disable it server-sided.

even if you managed to rig up a mod to hide the crosshairs players would still make mods to put a crosshair in the middle of your screen effectively making this obsolete, theres really no way to prevent clients from doing things they have access to in everyway

No matter what fancy protection you put in your required client-sided mod, there's nothing stopping me from disabling that protection or just putting a sticker on my monitor.

even then if you have protection against that and require anti-stick monitors(is this even possible?) I could just wear glasses with a sticker on them

Cross pick mod allows you to do this.

but they're asking for a server mod :c

I really don't care what the client manages to do, to be honest.
If they really want to do that, then by all means, do it.

I'd just like something there to indicate how the game should be played.

...tell them to hide their crosshair?

Some weapon packs like Sgt A Walter's and BKT hide crosshairs when you go into iron sights, so there is certainly a way to do it. As for everyone saying that you can put a sticker on your moniter or make a mod to counter this, most people aren't as determined to defy a server's host as you apparently think.

It's mostly for a singleplayer game mode, so that makes it a little difficult to do this aha

Ahh yeah, I have seen that...

if it's a single player gamemode, then it's easier to hide the crosshairs, because they're the ones with the addon

I know, but it'd be nice to have an add-on that disabled cross-hairs, so players know that this is the way it's supposed to be played.
