Author Topic: Is there anyway to disable steam trading cards?  (Read 3734 times)

I keep getting notifications whenever I buy a new game that I have just got some stuffty trading card.
These are completely irrelevant to my life and I want to disable them.
Any way to block the process of getting them?

Sell them you nitwit.

There might be a way to disable notifications on new items
Look around in the settings

Yeah if you don't care about badges and stuff just sell the cards lol

it's free money you halfwit, why are you complaining

Sometimes you can make a decent amount of money
(Decent in DLC cost terms)

If you manage to get all cards in a set, and craft them into a badge, and get lucky enough to get a rare item for the right game, you can sell it for quite a bit

Or just sell the cards

Wait so people actually want to buy these "cards"?
They literally do nothing except show a badge on your profile?

you get the cards while playing games, as you know already
get every card from a set, you can craft the cards into a badge
along with the badge you'll get an emoticon (some of which are rare and worth a lot), a profile background (also range in rarity). during special events (summer sale, winter sale, etc) you can also find special cards made specifically for the event. those can be worth a lot during the beginning of the sale.
you also have a chance of finding rare foil cards, which can be crafted into foil badges (same as normal badges and cards but with silver borders).
not that any of this matters. you can sell the cards on the steam market. just stockpile them until a sale event comes along.

Why would someone want a card though?

Why would someone want a card though?
to make their steam profile look cool.
its about the same as people wanting Unusual hats in TF2.

because fun.
just do what i usually do with my cards, go to your inventory, click the card, then click the sell button.
and put it up for cheaper than its currently going for, and then eventually you can afford a game with that money.

Yeah I dont see what's "fun" about decorating a profile.. But I will use this to my advantage and make a tiny bit of ££

Totally just made £0.28 :O

never underestimate the will of others to collect irrelevent steam bullcrap
