Valve probably dug themselves into a hole by delaying ep3 to work on other projects. Now they probably realize that the fans are probably expecting something big. So they are either trying to wait things out until people either forget about half-life, or dely the inevitable and release another Mass Effect 3.

Maybe the Half-life community can stay strong by making GREAT mods, Take 7Co-Op, You got to play with friends on Co-op missions. I'm already planning on making a mod called Half life 2:Lost at sea, I just need to make the scripts, Maps, All that other modding stuff.

I think the Priority list currently going for reaching HL3 is:
-Get Steamboxes out
-Finish Source 2 engine
-Make Left 4 Dead 3 as a demonstration for the source 2 engine
-Half-life 3.

I mean seriously it's been 7 loving years since the last game was made do you actually think they will make it? i don't think they will.

of course they're making it. it's already confirmed that it's happening, the trouble is just that it's been so long and they're very stingy with information on future releases.

well they probably dont want to forget up with release date like they did with Portal 2
it went from fall 2010 to February 9th 2011 to April 28th.
