Something sad just occurred to me

I just applied for admin on Mr. Queeba's thing because why not.  Then I was like "Nobody is going to recommend me because I've never been admin on a serious server." 

I have been playing since 2009 and I haven't made any friends who are taken seriously.  I haven't made any add-ons or builds or done anything foolish to make myself famous. 

After five years of Blockland, I have had no impact whatsoever on the way people think of me. 

Does anybody else have this problem?

After nearly seven years I'm in the same boat, however the whole bolded is essentially the reason why. Now I'm not going to complain about e-peen popularity because I'm indifferent to the subject, however just sticking around for a long time isnt a reason why people become popular. Being a huge contributor to the community is, (or being a massive butt lol cheese20)

You aren't the only one friend. Ive been around for a long time but as Jubel said, its those who pursue to contribute to the community more become more well known and have an affect. I personally choose to lurk more than post and don't try to do as much with blockland and the forums as others would while others post a ton, maybe make or attempt to make addons and start lots of topics. Hense why despite being around since 2009, there are some who will be more well known in a month or so.

The only reason people really know me is the whole bird obsession thing.
I was basically Nobody until I started the whole bird thing and as soon as that took off I became more known.

I'm still not as well known as people like Nonnel and stocking and etc. but people do recognize me.

Sort of feel the same. I'm fortunate I manage to churn out a build or 2 every year, but I like it this way. It'd make me feel forced to play Blockland.

So make a build. Think up something semi-original. Host a server, get your ten minutes of fame and be done and over with it. I think you'll come to find that the friends that matter are the ones that don't just play blockland, but all sorts of games with you. Hoping you have real life friends suggest the game to them. Maybe they'll play.

 Also, after 16 years I had no job experience but I still got a job. Basically what I'm trying to say is, you start somewhere.  You may start on some rarely visited server, but believe me, that host is grateful- most of the time -for you being there, and the odds are will recommend you in the end. For you, you chose to start your job 5 years later then others. No biggy. Just start now rather then even later.  Hardly anyone knows me. But hey, don't make me sad. Once you get through it I doubt you'll be bothered by it again.

Especially cause I haven't made one in quite a while...
