A few things:
First, Am I the only person who feels as though an 11-year old should not be able to even consider Self Delete in a serious manner? That kind of thing wasn't even on my radar in terms of even being possible without some kind of heroics or honorable (Die for the cause) mentalities, or noble sacrifice from action movies of sorts, until I was at least 15. It makes me feel as though things in this situation are not just "He was bullied so he tried to kill himself" and might be a bit deeper/more intricate. But I dunno, society has changed too much in such a short period, it's always possible, although unlikely.
Second, there are two types of bullies. Those who bully for uncontrollable things (race/ethnicity, etc) and those who bully for ideological purposes (Bronyism). The second type, unlike the first, serves the valid purpose of influencing the ideas of individuals with bizarre or counter-productive mindsets (Socially or otherwise) from being able to express it, and hopefully suppress it. I was bullied plenty for being anti-social, Up until about HS when people learned to be more responsible and respectable to their peers, especially the ones setting the curves in their science classes. My policy towards people who act like bullies is simply to not give a single bucket of care to it. It never effected me in the slightest. It was merciless harassment; but I didn't care; I liked the way I thought about things and people, and to hell with everyone else. This is how some of the good ideas in the world got through, because someone refused to let his ideals be put down, and it strengthened his or her resolve.
Finally, Self Delete in general is as stupid a concept as you can get. The idea that anyone would willingly destroy their own life in an attempt to escape their problems don't deserve to exist. I don't care how terrible your life is, there is just no excuse. If you can't deal with reality then you don't deserve to be a part of it. I have zero respect for anyone who even thinks this is a legitimate use of will power. Self Delete comes down to willpower, and if you don't have the will to live; sucks, find it or leave.
TL;DR: Is that child too young to even consider Self Delete as a thing? Bullies can be useful in society, and people who are affected by them need become harder headed instead of killing themselves.
But that's just my opinions in general on the matter, exceptions are bound to exist here and there; this case may be one, simply because of the youth of the boy, but I don't think age should play that big a difference in the matter; but I understand when mental strength simply cannot exist biologically, exceptions must be made. And its unfortunate this child chose to try to kill himself over something I consider trivial and part of life.
Also I don't like bronies, please notice how I never said anything about them except in the case of an example of ideals and right in this sentence.
