Author Topic: DDoS attack - 2/5/2014  (Read 5302 times)

How do these DDoS attacks even happen? I'm clueless about how such a thing would work, but couldn't you just block the IP addresses of the person doing the attacks? Or simply make it so the forums can only be connected to by registered users?

Ignoring the fact that a gate is being flooded does not stop the flood from being in the way of legitimate traffic.

Some people just want to see the world DDoS

a glimpse of blockland in 20 years
I was thinking this, but 50 years from now

I miss v.8... Small community, maps, other random stuff. A community of 5,000 people was like such a great size. It's like a large family; because everyone knows everyone.

When Blockland got on Steam it attracted the wrong attention, the servers on Blockland seem very weak and if Badspot wants to run Blockland he needs to consider upgrading his server hardware for Blockland. For how much money he is making both on the website and steam It wouldn't hurt to just make a simple server farm :D That goes for RTB as well.

It's funny, though. Everyone that has ever attacked Blockland on this type of level had always been pre-steam. Your point is invalid, I think Steam is putting us in a very good spotlight. Also, RTB is being shut down next month so nothing is going to happen there.

Why are they shutting down rtb?
there isn't anything wrong with it
