Yeah, and for those you generally need to have product to show that you're a good investment. Same issue.
My father can help me with investments.
I'd be looking for a London based team, I already have a friend who studies at Oxford University doing coding, I'm sure he's got links.

My idea is fresh, and I know what works and what doesn't work.

There's pros and cons to having local developers. The obvious benefit is that they can meet together for a powwow session. I've worked with people as far as Australia before though and it isn't actually as hard to coordinate as you may think. The obvious pro of having a more spread out team is that you have a much bigger area to pick developers from, so you can grab a bunch of really good people instead of settling for mediocre college programmers (they really do suck) that are in the area.

Oh, just getting a piggyback ride. Yeah, that works I guess.

He hasn't been bottle feeding me my whole life, I have had to work for things in my life.
But when it comes down to it, helping your son achieve his dream isn't a "piggyback ride"

Anyway, Furdle, if you need more direct advice about how a game studio operates you can contact me directly since I co-lead one. Aside from Badspot and maybe Rotondo, Centhra probably has the most experience developing games on the forum, so I can probably answer most questions you'd have that don't depend on local legislature.

Ok jj abrams

You should totally hire me. I live in England, going to uni next year (most likely).

Right so I've been writing the lore since about November 2013, not exactly a long time but I think its going well. Originally I started it as a Blockland server, then decided that it was too complex and big of a project for Blockland, and started writing it into a book for fun, then soon realised it would make a better game.
The advice so far has been great, I am thinking of the next steps to take. anyone got ideas?

well whats the lore? (pm it if you want, I'm interested)

can confirm this is mostly true, my dad complains about recent college programmers that are clueless for the most part.  although some are okay.

I'm not telling you this to try and sound mysterious or like its some top secret government project, I just don't want people to know because you never know what's going to happen in the future.
