Anyone played the TitanFall Beta when it came out? Because it's over now! Now you have to buy it!
Jokes aside, a titan is a huge robot that drops from the sky. it's designed to carry a pilot inside that operates the controls. we could make a titan player/vehicle that does the following things;
    • It's gotta be huge
    • Should be able to operate on it's own
    • AI turns off when you enter
    • Guns. Big guns.
    • Possibly a /command that toggles AI mode (Follow/Guard)
    • Teammates can ride on your back. Enemies can ride too, and can kill you quickly
    • CANNOT JUMP. would probably have low jump height but fast air control
    • Shields (but an enemy can bypass shields and directly harm you by riding)
    This would be so awesome, and if it could be done, it should.

    This would be cool, but it looks very difficult to make.

    It could be made, but without all the features.
    The mech itself? Yes.
    The AI function? Possibly.
    Huge? You have to be pretty stupid to mess that up.
    Guns? Look at Gcats mech, same mechanic.
    Turns off? Another possibility.
    Can't jump? That's to easy.
    Teamates can ride on your back? Maybe, code is in the Rowboat, (Being a bot, vehicle)
    Self-operation. Can't, to hacky and restrictions.

    Now that i've cleared some of the "its not possible" stuff up. Someone for the love of god, consider it.

    If you make the thing a bot, just use bot ai

    Huge? You have to be pretty stupid to mess that up.
    You'd be surprised. Sure it's easy to increase the size of an object until it's big, but titans in that game actually feel big. You'd need sound to do that well for starters, animation that makes it look heavy, maybe even shake the camera of nearby people as it walks. The mech vehicle (the one that had the light and heavy variants) was big, but its gun sounded like the default pistol, had no sound to its movement, and could be juggled with a barrage of rockets. It was big but it had the feel of a walking hot air balloon. Might also want some scripting that fakekills smaller bricks as it moves.

    this reminded me to start working on my deployable mech again. It won't have the AI functions, but when you fire a homing beacon from a locator the mech falls down to the ground and makes a big rumble and stuff, then you can enter it and forget stuff up

    Guys, loving the feedback! It's starting to look like it's a definite yes on the mod! I can't wait for someone to take this project!

    also i've been searching around for huge ass boom nosies for the landing sounds and the better sounding servo noises I can find, it sounds like a monster

    ALSO: here's a picture of the mech's lower body (no feet, haven't been modeled) this thing is meant to be a slow hulking beast

    That looks good. Imagine hearing a swooshing up ahead only to find rock and dirt splashing everywhere when this monster lands, only to whip out (insert gun here) and pick off enemy infantry and armor.

    it's got two arm-mounted guns

    one's a 50 caliber turrent, the other is a railgun that can fire through multiple targets

    (maybe)

    either that or both arms have large machine guns of some sort

    there's gunna be a weak spot (on the back, a cooling port for the mech) that can seriously damage it (one day)

    also yes, i wanna make it emit vehicle explosions at each feet to simulate dust knocked off the floor
