most ransomware is the same. Cryptolocker actually encrypts your files, its probably just some greasy Russian one that was made in visual basic

Trog, I had ransomware on my computer. Download Malwarebytes and run a full scan

Also, if this helps, look into the folder C:\ProgramData and delete any suspicious files. That's where my virus was located.

Yeah, I got a virus saying evidence of child research was found on my computer, and that I must pay the government fee of 500$ or my computer would be permanently quarantined and I would be prosecuted.

I closed the process in Task manager, and killed it using Kaspersky.
