Author Topic: Opus support  (Read 498 times)

So how about Opus support in addition to Vorbis?  Opus does better at the lower bitrates (32-96kbps) range where most blockland music resides.  It could help to get more out of the limited filesize limit as well to achieve similar level of audio quality.  Being an open codec, there shouldn't be any major licensing issues or anything like that.  Maybe even the hilariously awful and hopefully unlikely chance of ingame positional voice chat support. :o

Before anyone moans, if this was added then there would probably be a mute voices button in the options>audio menu.

Honestly that part was a joke, though having blockland integrate with Mumble for it's positional stuff or something may not be awful if someone wants to have a clan server or something.  No idea what that involves, but no point in reinventing the wheel there if there's options available already.

Anyone should do a text to voice addon
