Didn't really know where to put this, since SFM isn't really a game.
Anyways, statistics:

If you need more information, tell me where to get it and I'll post it.
By can it run, I mean can it work properly, render, ect.

For those that don't know, SFM stands for Source Film Maker.

Yes. But you must listen here. When you load SFM if it lags like hell when you move the cam around do this:

1. right click on the cam
2. click render settings
3. untick all the boxes
4. click apply

then it won't lag

SFM pretty much only relies on CPU and RAM. he can run it easily.

Edit: found this from the valve forums

The SFM requires a substantial gaming system to run well. Laptops with embedded graphics chips or small screens are unlikely to be able to run the SFM. For more information about minimum hardware requirements, see Installation. If your laptop has a powerful video chip that is capable of running other 3D software without any problems, check your driver settings; it is possible that it may have incorrectly categorized the SFM as a "low performance" application.
I might have to do bold later, but if I have to, how would I do it? Can someone elaborate?

really? isn't it rendering though? i know source is pretty well optimized regardless.

it'll run on medium-high settings. you'll have to lower AA though

This is not really a hardware issue, but it got brought to mind when I watched the SFM trailer.
Is it possible to play ingame, and then edit the stuff you played ingame to your needs?
For example, I play a game of heavy.
Is it possible to open up that somehow recorded gameplay and edit it to do unique stuff?

Hello everyone, in the midst of a forum Self Delete (thompson), I give you a question.
I'm rendering my first (stuffty) SFM video as we type.
I'm trying to make a new one on a new map, but when I move 'round in the game view, it doesn't record my movement. Only the last second before I stop recording.
I'll post a yewtewb link to the sfm video I made previously once it's done rendering.

actually im not going to post this post until thompson stops spammin'

forget it i'll constantly bump

make an SFM animation of some guy slamming his keyboard then show a video of off topic

yes, i'm fairly certain that is possible to do (with the heavy and the recordings)

all you gotta do is, after recording something, to press the + button in the animationset editor and set it to "create existing animationsets" or whatever.

then the models will be editable animationsets! free for reskinning or replacing with different weapons!

at least that's what i think you're asking
