Servermania, but I know Mauritsio would prefer the other choice

Europeans would choose Europe and Americans will choose America.
/thread
The only excuse is better ping time for Americans. The European one is clearly a better choice in every part but meant for Europeans.

" If too many clients register, I can easily upgrade to a 32 GB dedicated server for $125/month. It can hold 80 BL dedi-servers."
Instead of doing that, you could go both ways and get both.

Nope, the new control panel is many times better than the stupid one HamHost used. When I started making HammerHost 3 weeks ago, I laughed at how horribly the HamHost control panel was constructed. What an excuse for a control panel.
"I laugh at how horrible my work was 7 months ago. Obviously, those 7 months have turned me into an industry professional and I will now be providing a top knotch control panel that will rival Ephialtes' and Lub's individual years of experience working for actual companies designing client interfaces."

on what subtropical planet do you think that you can use a $40 VPS to host an entire hosting service

I'll tell you why, at $125, it's better to get one big New York server rather than a small New York and a small Germany.
Let's say each Contabo 16 GB VPS can hold 20 clients, and costs $40 each. Let's assume I buy 1 of those, so now I can hold 20 clients in Europe.
After that, I can get a 8 GB Servermania VPS in New York for $60/month. This can also hold 20 clients. Now I'm spending $100/month.

So I have 40 slots total, at $100.

However, what if I purchased one big 32 GB dedicated server from Servermania? It could hold 80 clients. The ping from them to Europe is relatively low, and RTB thought the ping was good enough for them to not need a European server.
So for $125/month, I have 80 slots. Double the slots for only a 25% greater price.

It all depends on how large the service is. The quality remains the same no matter what the scale is; a 4 GB VPS will host Blockland as well as a 16 GB dedicated server. It just can't run as many. I used a $40 VPS for HamHost and it worked out well.

1: This hosting service is not intended to rival RTB's control panel, and I never said that. HammerHost is just supposed to be a replacement, to provide reasonably-priced and reasonable-quality hosting to all the players who lost it after RTB's collapse. As time goes on, and depending on the service's popularity, I will improve it.
2: 3 months of operating HamHost has not made me an expert, but it has obviously made me capable of managing HammerHost.

you're flat out putting words into his mouth, trinick. I expected better from you.
here's a more accurate version:
"I laugh at how horrible my work was 7 months ago. Obviously, those 7 months have given me more insight and experience, and the system will be better this time around."
I didn't see him claiming to be better than RTBHost, just saying that he'll do a better job this time than the last.

Honestly, even I didn't try claiming that. I said I would work towards it, but that I definitely wouldn't start there. He isn't even saying he'll work towards that, but he sure as forget isn't saying he's already there.

well... you can

on what subtropical planet do you think that you can use a $40 VPS to host a quality hosting service
fixed that for myself.

fixed that for myself.
ok that makes more sense
i still think you can though, just a bit harder.

He may not have said it directly, but he's implying that his panel won't have any problems this time around. Even with your "corrected" version, the fact is he can't even claim that he will have a decent service. If he's really improved 'that much' over 7 months, imagine how much more he'll improve in another 7 months. History has shown us that Hammer grossly overestimates his abilities when forming a product, there is literally no reason to take this service seriously until Hammer demonstrates a tangible example of quality. Maybe I'm only looking at it this way because I'm part of a venture capitalist firm that vets companies to find ones that are likely to succeed, but if HammerHost showed up in a portfolio on my desk I'd slide it into the trash immediately.

until Hammer demonstrates a tangible example of quality.
We'll see what the beta testers say.

-snip-

RTB fanboys / bashers like you make me sick and nobody really cares if you're some 18 year old genius who works for a venture capitalist firm. Just go away and stop trying so hard, all the normal people who are not RTB fanboys / bashers don't need to hear your ridiculousness and stupidity. Just stop trying because you won't achieve anything other than trying to boost your ego and claim that you're superior to everyone. You have better things to do than run after guys who have actually put in effort and time into their projects.

I'm not claiming to be superior to anybody. I'm not in the business of starting a hosting company. My personal talents and skills related to hosting services are irrelevant. I'm also not an RTB fanboy, I'm a quality fanboy. There's really no argument that to date there has been rivalry to RTB in quality, so it's the gold standard for me. If HammerHost happened to pass the quality of RTB, I'd be posting in other peoples' threads that their services can't match the quality of HammerHost.

you haven't even seen the service in action yet, how could you be judging it now? Why don't you just wait for it to be released and listen to peoples' reception.
