Can you explain in Depth?  Like, what is it going to look like, or whats the other effects?

if he's set on making it himself and no one is allowed to tell him he can't because he's the expert already and knows it can be done, it belongs in modification discussion

Ok. Then we will be waiting for you to create a motion blur in torkscript, as you seem to know a way to do that.

Why are you asking us? We don't have a way of modifying the engine source that Badspot approves of.
Go ask Badspot to add uniforms for screen textures (with history). We're waiting.

Only feasable ways of making motion blur in blockland:
1. Use your imagination.
2. Wierd crap with shaders/screenshots (Enjoy your 1 frame a minute gameplay!)
3. Engine change.

3. Engine change.

.. please tell me you mean changing something in the engine, not replacing it.

Yes, I mean modifying the engine. You know my opinion on replacing it.

But seriously

Doesn't this count as dismissive?

You could probably make or find an external program that grabs a portion of the screen and layers it to simulate motion blur.

Here you go: https://www.google.com/#q=motion+blur+shader+glsl

Good luck.  I'd suggest starting with getting the blur effect to work just in some fixed direction, then worry about calculating the blur vector.

The issue is that all of these rely on having access to the current (and some, the previous) screen space texture in some way or another. The only real things that could be "blurred" are shadows and actual model textures (i.e. studs on bricks, which would never "leave" the boundaries of the brick).

Why would you willingly add motion blur to any game.

in my opinion it makes games look and feel smoother
