plane was hijacked no doubt!!!

It was hijacked.  They're hiding it from the public.  The plane has on board computers that would report anything wrong with the plane to maintenance.

wait uh is this a serious post

It's ridiculous that stuff like this can actually happen with today's technology. One would think that a plane would have some kind of backup communications system that sends information about the planes whereabouts to a nearby receiver. Isn't the black box supposed to do that or is it just for storing info and not sending it?

Black boxes are just for data storage.

The pilot was a muslim.

It was obviously terrorists.

of course planes send loving data. the problem is that this one just...vanished.

Btw, doesn't the black box need to be retrieved in order to find data?  Or do they communicate with some central authority nowadays?

Sorry if I'm not up to date on planes.

the person behind me at my hotels breakfast was talking about how this whole thing is just a hoax put on by the government to get money from Malaysian Airways and how we are all useless sheep for believing it... lol
