They don't? Maybe the reporters got confused. Anyways, there was also on the paper that two passangers had fake stolen passports.
and let the donning of the tinfoil hats and conspiracy theories begin.

they run on kerosene

Are you sure? People here use kerosene to clean tiles and remove metal paint and superglue from their hands.

Seems like you're right. Then why would the oil spills have any relevance with the aircraft?

No obviously they run on crude oil.

Don't worry most of the loving terrible pilots are Latin American and Italian.
that's a funny way to spell japanese

Jet fuel isn't kerosene.

Trust me I work with both every day.

And they wouldn't have backup power if the engines went out. The engines run the generators. The only things they'd have are emergency roosterpit lighting and backup instruments not ran by electricity.

Then what are they running on? Wikipedia says they run on a variation of kerosene. And wouldn't they have an emergency morse transmitter and reciever?

Meh, it's close enough. Basically just heavily filtered kerosene with a few additives.

...emergency morse transmitter and reciever?
morse
Nope. Just a regular ol' VHF AM transmitter, same as they always use. Except, of course, there *is* a dedicated emergency frequency at around 130MHz or so. IIRC, planes quit carrying HF morse transceivers ages ago.

Oh yeah, I remember now that planes have that. Pretty cool technology if you ask me.
it's... just a turbine

Jet A and Jet A-1 are both kerosene based

these things pop out and give minimal power
like just for roosterpit, communications systems

The families are able to phone their relatives on the plane.

This could mean they are, or were, alive, and able to recieve calls.

What do you mean? Can the phones receive the calls?
