Lol, did someone die or something?
Swat3 is handicapped, that's all I'll say.

i'm kind of opposed to using voice chat with people on the internet mostly because i can't stand my voice and i feel weird socializing with people i can't see but can hear so

is text efficient
Text is usually fine, but is sub-optimal compared to voice.

Trust me, I used to feel the same way: I'm a 17yo with the voice of a middle-schooler. But then I just started doing it for the hell of it and nobody really gave a stuff. When you're talking to a real person, it's usually impolite to just point out something like "wow your voice is so stupid lel! xD" because a part of that "veil of anonymity" that allows us to be starfishs online breaks apart, especially when you've gathered with a bunch of to-be friends just to have fun, and doing that would just ruin the experience for everyone, including yourself.

I'm happy with my voice
it's just a lot of trouble using it on the internet. in my specific situation

oh also I've always wanted to play something like this. but I don't know anyone who would be interested irl besides my dad, and I haven't ever really found people willing to do it in text. not to mention I'd sorta need to be taught some things

Parents around you?

Parents around you?
not really. honestly I don't think that would be a problem with my mom and she's the one I live with. it's just mostly a connection speed thing :I

Oh, I see.

Text is sub-optimal yeah.

If you're going to do this I'd like to join pls
also how well do you think this'd go if someone started a D&D community project thread

there is a website for people to play online P&P games (like D&D)
here

i think its like it, only saw a vid of it so

that looks really silly to me and seems to take the imagination aspect out of it

also can I just like?? I wanna know who would be interested and willing to try to play something like this over skype or steam with text. obviously me, and childofdarkness seems like he would be too. but who else? at least one person with experience with these games would certainly help

I'd be interested but I have next-to-no experience dungeon-mastering (assuming it's DnD)

i have a plain white box that original held 5000 8.5x11 sheets of standard office printing paper that has been repurposed to hold a full DnD players handbook, monster manual and dungeon masters guide, various writing utensils, a bag of over 100 dice including all regular DnD faced dice, over 300 pages of graph paper and a short stack of my own custom player sheets.

the box today continues to collect dust in the corner because everyone who i thought would play with me never did. ;~;

i'm not very knowledgable about the current version anywho, played 2.0 with some other friends which ended in a very homoloveual elf loveually harassing a dwarf stuck under a tree, and then satan showed up or something. this game is best played with an abudance of paper and a lack of brain.

i've been trying to get into 3.5 with a group of blockland friends (blockland actually works pretty well for it) but we haven't gone more than a few sessions
i'm going to try my hand at GMing but i need some ideas, specifically for a setting/conflict

I can dm
I have 4E books but I prefer lighter systems like microlite20 and roll for shoes (I'll link later)

I've been dying to get a group together from this community for months now since I tried and succeeded for like 2 hours

Add lugnut1206 on skype

I could run a lightweight game like roll for shoes and let the newer gamers of the community (like night fox) get used to how the thing works

I would use roll20 even if only for the dice rolling systems - you don't have to use the grid if you don't want.

I really want to play dnd sometime.
