Author Topic: Regenerative ammo gun/Mass effect-ish style weapon  (Read 1815 times)

(Guns don't work that way, I know. Rule of fun.)

There should be a weapon(different colored default gun or something) where ammo slowly regenerates when not shooting. The player can reload at any time to instantly refill ammo, but he only has a limited number of extra magazines to instantly refill ammo.

Think of it as a combination of Overheating from Mass Effect 1 and thermal clips from Mass Effect 2.

Every single gun with a reload and limited ammo system in Blockland works on "One Bullet Clips". (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OneBulletClips)
This gun would avert it. Fire a bullet and reload, and you waste the entire magazine. Ammo boxes will refill magazines.

Soooooo unlimited ammo even though ammo is unlimited anyways?
Sorta. Unlimited ammo, but theres two modes of "reload", which is not firing the gun(ammo regenerates slowly) and reloading with the light key, which reloads instantly and uses up a magazine.

What a shame. A gun with a unique ammo system that averts "one bullet clips" and not a single care is given.

Ooh, I really like this idea.
Unfortunately, this is a land of people who like over-realistic guns.

I want to see this done.

did you just come off a troping binge or something

I don't know how long it took to finish all the tabs.

Why do you stuff on everyone who prefers realism in firearms?

OT: I actually like this concept and it's arcade-like nature.

Because, if you want realism play a realistic game. CoD, Battlefeild, Counter Strike.
Blockland is not realistic in the least and I like it that way: stylized.
It's why I despise heat mod, hunger mod, and any mod that limits me to realistic standards. I play games to escape realism, not play with it.

And I say this every time.

I agree the ones that implement bullstuff mechanic into the game are terrible. But Bockland is a game heavily revolving around mods. You can (try to) make any game you want out of Blockland, I'm not saying that it has to be a CoD spin off or else it's stuff. I may want some realistic weapons for a Firing range or an open world based game.
But I do agree, some situations call for basic weapons, not excessive bullstuff mechanics like "mash 'e' to unjam weapon" or "press 'space' to pump gas" because there are opportunities for it.

But hunger mod seems rushed and the heat mod is just stupid outside of an Arctic Circle survival.

Plus I'd rather play blockland servers that do it right than pay $60 for this year's CoD turd buffet.

What irks me about all that conversation is that I never say that using realistic guns is a bad thing. It's my personal preference I state, and when I do, it causes a big stir amongst the hard core gun gamers when I never intended it to happen.

"This guy doesn't like my favorite thing, time to fanboy all over his opinion."

"This guy doesn't like my favorite thing, time to fanboy all over his opinion."

The way you phrased it at the start sounded more like a complaint rather than an opinion. I get that you don't like realism and that's fine.

Unfortunately, this is a land of people who like over-realistic guns.

I'm just gonna say that this suggestion is still a nice concept and I'm not contributing in any way with this conversation.

then don't download those mods dumbass
not everyone agrees with you

I don't?
I'm not forcing my opinion. I'm stating it. You don't have to agree... I never said you have to.
I just got done explaining how people react to my opinion just in time for you to drive it home.
Read my post above yours.

Good going..

Yeah...
It's my opinion. You don't need to follow it if you don't want.
That would be called a point of reason, not a statement.

telling people that they should play another game if they want realism is not an opinion
