Paradox is an adventure about time travel. I'm sorry I couldn't make pictures, but I'm not very artistically gifted and it would be a lot of work with this adventure's gimick - I will edit all previous posts in accordiance to what you're doing in the past. If you get a drink from a coffee shop, then go back a few years and destroy that shop when it was built, I will edit the post where you get a drink to show you reminiscing about the shop. Sometimes, stuff you do in the past will have little to no effect. Other times, it will significantly alter your timeline but won't cause a paradox. If a paradox does occur, there could be some very bad consequences...
Travel into the future isn't that much less dangerous. If you get killed in the future by someone and you see it, you now know that and eventually may not be killed by him because you're avoiding your death. Or maybe you don't avoid it.
Sometimes, especially during battles, actions will be decided by chance. This is often used to decide whether an attack is successful:
1 - Backfire
2 - Miss
3 - Failure
4 - Average
5 - Success
6 - Critical
On the topic of battles, you have Health and Energy (used for magical artifacts you might find, energy weapons, bullets, etc.)
Beep. Beep. Beep.
And that's your alarm! Normally, you'd groggily throw on your clothes and lab coat, grab your coffee, and drive to work. But not today. Because today is special. Today is the day you and your team have finally finished the time machine. Of course, you don't normally call it that, because it sounds like it's from science fiction - but everyone knows that the superlumial rotor is a time machine. It works by using negative energy (obtained using by using a transformer with antimatter - that stuff is a pain to work with) to accelerate light faster than... light. By projecting the fields produced by this, you can send someone backwards or forwards in time. Anyway, you're almost done with breakfast already and you skipped your coffee because you don't need it! Too excited! After a painful drive to the lab, you get to test the damned thing with a human for the first time, and you've been chosen!
"Ready?" asked one of your co-workers.
"Ready," you respond.
He switched on the machine and a loud humming is heard, along with zaps and soon a whirling sound.
"Okay, we're only going to send you ten seconds back in time," he tells you. Ten seconds is plenty. After he taps in the numbers, he presses the button and you're blinded by the red light. You find yourself in the lab-
"Rea...dy...ughh," you respond. The voice felt strange, but it wasn't coming from someone else. Was it? You fall down on the floor. Not you, the other you. The you from ten seconds ago. Why did he do that? But you know why. You didn't move out of the way and materialized inside of yourself.
"Oh god, no!" screamed your co-workers as the machine's sirens started going off.
EDIT: I am going to keep this version of the OP so people will understand what is happening.
