Task Manager isn't showing at all

I've scanned for viruses, but Task Manager still doesn't show up at all.

No window, nothing in the menu bar, the only thing I get is this:



Please help me, I want my task manager back.

you have windows so i'm assuming you could just hit ctrl+alt+del and open it from there

Did you try searching task manager in the start menu?
Usually if I can't open it any other way I can get it from there.

My PC randomly blue screened out of nowhere, and when I restarted my PC, task manager wouldn't start up. Any time I try to start up Task Manager, spawns more of the CPU grids in the menu bar.

Also, whatever this is, it disabled my sound.

Anytime I try to play a Source game (and source games only), I blue screen or something else odd happens.

Also, I now have Avast and Malwarebytes running in the background together. I'm going to leave them on for the night and hopefully get this thing settled straight.

Try pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc and use Alt+Tab to look for it or see if there isn't a green square graph at the right of the taskbar (usually you need to click on the ^)

Sometimes viruses disable it. I'd run a Malwarebytes scan.

I suggest going to a backup if you cannot find the problem soon.

You can still check your running processes by opening a command prompt and doing tasklist

You can then end processes just by doing taskkill /im processname.exe

You should check if taskmgr.exe is still running.

Start task manager?

Does it just close or...

If so, try running malwarebytes or something in safe mode

If all else fails system registry. Though it may just be your computer.
