Author Topic: [More Downloads Added] Takato14's Return  (Read 17486 times)

I downloaded the Hi-Blast yesterday, so I spawned it. Then I equipped, but there was something weird.
There was some sort of line and a hand that is like 2 feet away from the player. Wtf.

Looks hot

You should keep the animation for 1st person, and add a 3rd model with no hands and brick building animation

Full support.
Best of both worlds, baby!

It's an artifact of the exporter. I explained this earlier. It'll fix itself once the animations are done. It never happened previously because the old version of the Torque exporter required that you make the shape hierarchy manually, while the new one does it automatically.

That won't work for what I have in mind for this weapon, plus I don't exactly like the idea myself. Perhaps I'll experiment with it on later weapons, but I wouldn't count on it. I personally think the alternative reloading animations (tier-tac style) look lazy and boring, and I don't understand why people think they look silly in 3rd person. I'm not rejecting their opinions, I just don't see it.

If I could add custom animations to the default player model I'd do that, but obviously I'd need to have the source file for the default player including all default sequences. From there I'd need to add customized animations for every weapon, which would cost not only a stuffload of effort but also another datablock or two per weapon. There is also potential for problems with using non-default playertypes.

So unless Badspot is going to give us a complete .blend file of the minifig in the foreseeable future, my animations are going to stay the same as they always have.

Badspot has admitted that he actually lost the blender files for the player model, and that is the reason that any updates to it are extremely unlikely.

That's a shame.

On-Topic: The Hi-Blast is nearly complete. All I need to do now are a few more tweaks/fixes and new sounds. Link updated.

You should finish the Sigma after this.

I was hoping no one would ask about it. It was among the models I lost to my HDD crash.

Getting data off of a physically damaged hard disk is extremely expensive so the SiGMa will have to wait until I can afford to do that. I suppose I could remodel it as I do have all of my WIP renders, but... idk.

We'll see.

Fixed a slight error with the Uber-Tana. Updated the OP and split the Uber-Set into individual downloads.

Wow, I didn't expect that the damage was that severe. How did it happen? Was it dropped off the second floor or something?

Don't really know. It worked last September, I put it away for a while, then got it out again and nothing. It is nearly 7 years old, I got it with my first laptop.

stuff happens. I'll get my data back eventually, I just need to wait until I actually have the means to.

Little bit of work on the Shining Laser.

Brownie points to anyone who knows what this weapon is based off of.

Hm, looks like I need to make a bit more noise for people to realize I'm back...

yea blockland needs more detailed stuff.

lately people in blf have been trying to set a pattern into models (blocky, defaultish) and that restricts the people who want to make detailed weapons into blockland, it really pisses me off
Detailed is fine.

Being able to cripple a server by spawning 20 of the item is not fine.

If your server is crippled by having 20 of any item, your computer is a stump.
This shouldn't ever be an issue.
