After a series of riots, crimes, etc. that occurred this week (3 houses burned, 2 cars burned, a handicapped thrown off a bridge, two factions fighting each other in a stadium ending up with deaths, lanacion.com.ar), my parents decided that I shouldn't study in Argentina. So they started investigating and shot me with the idea of studying at Cambridge. I really don't know what to say because I know how strict the english are and here, we scratch our balls. I have up to may to shape up. What should I do, answer, think about, etc? Please post CONSTRUCTIVE criticism/tips/ideas. I'm not fooling around. Cambridge entrance tests begin in September and I need to prepare for it in July.

Did you already have prospects to go to an ivy-league school? Because if not, I suspect it may be way out of your league. Try applying to some more 'normal' level colleges as well.

I've been given the choice for Cambridge and Oxford. My parents will also try to get a vacant at my current school incase things don't work out.

Been given the choice? Like it is "We want you to either go to Oxford or Cambridge, son" or is it, "I got accepted into either Oxford or Cambridge." Why are those your choices?

Have you looked into Cambridge at all though? Does it seem like a comfortable place for you?

My parents don't want me to study here because people get killed for no reason, classes haven't started yet for public schools and they had gunfights in a university a few weeks ago. And my mom was looking into Cambridge.

I have the pamphlets on-hand. I really like what it says especially since famous people studied there and medicine and veterinary medicine is what interests me.

Why don't you hunt for a college on your own? Can you afford such an expensive school, let alone get in? Do you already have an idea as to what you want to do? Cambridge and Oxford are both very prestigious universities.

Not sure how hard it is to get into the choices, but I've heard Oxford is extremely hard to attain.

I am aware about the toughness of these schools and my parents can afford it if I abandon my current school. Which is why my head is going around in circles because I don't know what to do. I've heard really good things about chemistry in Cambridge and Oxford and I really want to attend them. But I'm not organized, I wake up at random hours, I play a lot. This is going to be a drastic change I am willing to do but I need advice on how to do it. I can't cook, I have no idea how to wash my clothes, I'm pretty bad at administering money (especially with the bigass inflation we have here) and I'm not fond of sharing dorms.

Night, I couldn't care less. Britains hate argentines after what happened with the Malvina Isles (Or Stanley Isles, according to the brits). Which is why I won't have competition with my own people. (And instead compete with countless asians).
