[2:57:42 AM] Foxscotch: it keeps talking about “no reason,” like they read some one-paragraph plot summary or something instead of playing the game
[2:58:33 AM] Foxscotch: first of all, the people whose side you were on wanted to fix it so that it would purify the water, and people in the D.C. area would actually have clean water to drink
[2:59:07 AM] Foxscotch: while the enclave, your enemies, wanted to fix it so that they could fill it with FEV and kill or mutate everyone
[3:02:14 AM] Foxscotch: I’m not saying it’s a good plot
[3:02:26 AM] Foxscotch: but like
[3:02:31 AM] Foxscotch: if you’re gonna whine
[3:02:35 AM] Foxscotch: whine accurately
[3:04:59 AM] Foxscotch: I’m not gonna argue against what the guy said about the GECK, though
[3:05:06 AM] Foxscotch: like, seriously
[3:05:08 AM] Foxscotch: “The Kit has the appearance of a small, silver briefcase emblazoned with the letters "G.E.C.K."; according to Vault-Tec advertisements, it contains all the seeds, fertilizer, and other equipment (including a cold fusion power generator and a basic replicator) necessary to start a new settlement in a post-nuclear world after emerging from a Vault shelter.”
[3:05:23 AM] Foxscotch: and they wanna use it to purify water
and as the guy I was talking to made me realize, water can't even become radioactive. just the stuff in it. they literally could have just made simple water filters instead of wasting time and effort and an incredible machine on a water purifier
