or practically anyone that wasn't white and/or of the religion dominant in that area...?

White Women have it better off than most minorities or women of color. Feminists weren't forced to live in slums, or be rounded up an taken from their homes to be sent to work in a far away land. They aren't being lynched and hung from a tree to die, the US Army didn't come by shoot at them and take their land. They weren't raped by white settlers and then abandoned to care of a half blood child without support. They weren't forced to live on reservations with small pox blankets. Yet you want to put the treatment of a gender up there with the treatment of whole races like they had just as bad.
