Author Topic: Taya's Badass 3d printing Thread (Commissions Open for Whatever) (Read OP)  (Read 26750 times)

Hello all you goobers!

Welcome to my 3d printing thread, also no banjo players allowed.

Meet  the printer. Printer meet the forums.

Q&A (i'm pretending you guys are asking these things)

Taya!! Why did you even get a 3d printer????

(I'm aiming to be a prop artist and 3d designer. This printer is a good motivator to help me hone my skills in the things i want to learn)

Taya!! if i 3d scan my richard and send it to you will you print it out???

(Hahaha, no. Thats only a pleasure i will keep for myself ;)))

Taya!! what brand is your printerr??

(Chinese flavor)

Taya!! why did you make this thread??

(To create interesting discussion and to bring up Ideas with what to do with a rapid prototyping machine.)

Meet the prints!

Note: The Whistle on the left represents my latest resolution and calibration. Most of the other prints on the table turned out lumpy save for the knex and the lego. It took a LOT of tweaking to get the print quality to turn out like this.

Left: Calibrated

Right: Not Calibrated

This evening I'm going to print something from Blockland after calibrating a bit. Probably the Jeep. However I need the model file without the tires if any of you know where to get it.

Commissions:

Got something on the mind that you want? Just send me a PM and i can do an estimate and charge a cost for whatever it is. I can currently print in 3 colors. Large objects will take longer knowing my printer struggles with them a bit. You are required to Provide your own files. I'm not a modeler unfortunately.

Here's a fairly decent catalog of many different printable items

No love toys. I can't mail those.

Format must be in STL

Would it be possible to print the parts of a lego minifigure and then piece him together? I mean like having the arms snap in place and move around.

Do you want the file for this?

Yes

However remove the limbs and make the hands feet and head separate

I'll use photoshop and breadbag ties to make it look like i don't need them

i'm not gonna do that much work

I am considering buying a really high resolution 3D printer, but they are very expensive.
any suggestions on where to go?

Whats your budget

Go for stereolithography instead of FDM type printers. High resolution prints for pretty cheap, not a lot of calibration
As for this thread, I have a few pictures to post at some point of the things I have printed
