Maybe it's modular, but we're talking about love toys here and that's probably not the best application for a 3-D printer haha

taya, a gameboy original case is made up of two different plastic pieces.
would it be possible to use a 3d printer to print those two pieces in a way that's still safe for all the electronics inside?
so that you could essentially just swap everything inside a gameboy, for a new case.
also, would it be possible to change the color the printer is printing with mid-print, so that the finalized plastic would be in multiple colors?

i wouldn't ask you to make this (i can't find STL files for them anyhow), i'm just wondering what the capabilities of a 3d printer is since you seem like the most knowledgeable here.

It might depend on the type of plastic being used and the printer's model.

How would accessorize a carrot, let alone a shark carrot? Interchangeable fins?
strap-on straps

@fancypants: yes, you can change the color out mid-print (on the printers i've used, at least). and i'm pretty sure that the printed case would be perfectly safe for the electronics inside

excuse u dis is mai thred

Besides, i know my printer better than you do. Changing colors mid-print can be sloppy and has a very rare chance of working with my printer, i've tried pausing the print before and it always mucks something up when starting up again. But yes, everything you asked is possible.

which is why i added "on the printers i've used, at least"

Since commishes are open, can you try my gun again? Should still be at the link I sent you, since you lost the file.

did you do it via PM? if i recall there was something wrong with the gun that the printer kept picking up. Try cleaning up the file and sending it again.

I did. There shouldn't be anything wrong with it, but I'll check tomorrow.

have you heard of those 3d printer toys

modibots or something

idk they're really cool

Ball joints are almost impossible for me to print. I actually acquired one of the modibot files and tried. Additive printers are very particular about what material you use, and i lack anything with flexibility. I should probably get some flexi stuff.

And the printer(s) would be?

makerbot replicator 2. iirc it has an option on the printer itself to pause the print job and unload the filament so you can switch it out.

Hey taya how about you send me reference that isn't just the torso for your shark thing

How much would it cost to make this www.thingiverse.com/thing:234512/
And do you have blue material?

EDIT: Actually I don't know how well this would sound...
And I'd rather have something with more holes
