where's gentoo
where's redhat
where's fedora
gentoo is compiling
redhat is too expensive
fedora crashed

so omitting it is like -Ss? that's cool, didn't know that :o
Yeah, that's pretty much how I first learned how to use it, so it's one of the few things I actually know, lol.

why do people use linux? im just wondering.

Gentoo is such a bitch to install, and using emerge to install stuff is so stuffty

i was seriously expecting purplemetro to make this thread

can you like, shut up already?

i haven't been on linux in weeks
even though i miss how easy it was to get apps installed by the pacman and yaourt command, and not having to go out on the INTERNET :(

well, i'll give you my personal reasons
the reason i started using it (ubuntu 9.04 back in the day) is because i was curious, simple as that, it was quite interesting to explore it
i kept on using it because of things like virtual desktops and having a decent terminal
my reasons now are pretty different, though, i use linux because i think proprietary software is unethical
i don't like giving someone else control over my computer, whether it be via backdoors or via control of the code doesn't really matter to me, it's all bad

honestly i just get better performance with linux & i love the "customize everything" aspect to it

that's called unixfapping! :D
