Author Topic: What is the point of an overpriced "gaming" mouse  (Read 5566 times)

Affordable, comfortable, accurate, and has good utility.

$25 mouse. I don't see why some people throw away so much money on mice.

My mouse has 2 buttons and a scroll wheel (buttonless).

Because cats

Same. My mmb is broke. It scrolls but can't click, my lmb likes to double click sometimes.

My mouse has the LMB, RMB, scroll wheel, and 2 buttons on the side
It's all I need

hey if you want a mouse that is:
-american made (maybe)
how does this make a mouse better
hey if you want a mouse that is:
-has a thumb rest
wow, I'd totally pay 200 dollars for a gayming mouse with a thumb rest even though most other mice are fine
-has good sensitivity
what in the forget does this have to do with the pricepoint of a mouse
-has keys you can program
I have a ten dollar mouse and it has two buttons on the side I can program

the entire reason these types of mice are popular is for people who are into gayming and think their kdr will go up if they buy some razer mouse because the company calls them "designed for gaming"
no I'm not even joking, look http://www.razerzone.com/

Here is my mouse

Still works like new even after 5 years and I'm extremelly satisfied with it, yet I could buy 8 or 10 of those with the price of that "gaming" mouse

My mouse is similar to yours. It is Genius brand and is still a ball mouse.

People say these have a short lifespan, but mine has worked fine for three years. I use all of the buttons. $70, worth every penny.

Extra buttons can be very useful.
They might not be for you but that doesn't mean that nobody should ever need them.
I personally like the standard usb mouse you get with a new computer (Alyx posted), but I also have a nice wireless one with a couple of extra buttons. It took a bit of adjusting to but it's very nice, and marginally more comfortable. It also hasn't given out as quickly as a couple of those did.

Sure they can be useful, but you could find a mouse with extra buttons like this way cheaper than those "top-notch best brand" "gaming" mouses

i have this

it's all crusty for some reason and i don't know why
i think my hand flesh attaches to it
