As far as I can tell, the best way to cope with mortality is to try and live a fulfilling life. Making irresponsible decisions is not fulfilling, at least in the long run. A ton of teenagers(and adults) think that doing stupid stuff is a reasonable way to make their lives interesting and fulfilling, but it's not. Making responsible decisions and acting like an adult is what leads to a fulfilling life. Doing stupid stuff and getting temporarily enthralled in the thrill of danger is great at first, but later breeds losers who enter adulthood unprepared for anything. How has it helped you?
because i was always worried about the future, always thinking of death, the future, and the past. and, i don't know, thinking like this has helped me live in and for the moment, i guess. i'm happier. way happier. i'm more open, more confident, more tolerant, i guess. it's really hard to put it into words, but i feel it, and it's there.
