i understand a good story helps - but im really not playing the game to watch how events unfold. im just playing it to kill stuff and live in a world i dont live in right now.

GTAIV, entire Saints Row series, Carmageddon, there are a whole other plethora of game that have exactly what you want...

"FALLOUT 3 OR NEW VEGAS?"

"FALLOUT 3 OR NEW VEGAS?"

exactly this, how the hell is that not specific enough

It's in reference to the guy's post dumbass, not the title.

He said he wanted a game where he could kill stuff and live in another world. All of the games I showed him are all of that and have better gameplay than Fallout.

Fallout's gameplay is incredibly sub-par. That isn't even opinion. People can take 6 .44 magnum shots to the head and not die.

Buy all the fallouts one by one is my answer to dilemmas.

I enjoyed New Vegas but 3 has some nostalgic value for me, which is what I think some of the people in this thread share with me.

new vegas because it isn't garbage

modded fallout is fun, especially with crits on headshots

the thing is that fallout is really geared more toward 'rpg with guns' then, say, stalker, which is more like 'fps with rpg elements', but stalker is way less meaty and less of a game and more of a misery simulator

if you were to take fallout's base aesthetic and gameplay and adventure-havingness and find a way to set it so that the game is fundamentally tactical fps combat with rpg overtones then you would find either open world deus ex or the perfect fps fallout

I elaborated too dumbass, I said that I wanted a game with ok story, but it wasn't a deciding factor.

i shot the living forget out of mr house

gta4 has a good story and saints row does as well.

just telling you, fallout has stuffty fps mechanics. be warned. combat is NOT enjoyable.
