I have no problem with veganism as a concept
The problem is the ones who are extremely vocal about it, these ones also (in my experience) tend to have no idea what they're talking about.
There was this one girl in one of my classes, she made sure by the end of the first day of the class, everyone knew she was a vegan.
She would say crap like "I don't eat gluten because it comes from genetically modified stuff which cause diseases"

My family went vegan for a year. I didnt mindit cos I didnt really like meat anyways. But forget was I wrong. No meat no eggs nor cheese no milk. They tried to find meat substitutes that tasted kike stuff. Fake cheese that smelled like stuff, and tasted like stuff. My dad was well. Fat. But forget he lost a lot of weight. It wssnt that bad I guess. We wennt vegan cos my mom didnt like the way animals were being treated and she didn't think that milk and stuff was good for you. I kinda ddisagree.  But we had had enough of it after about a year. It became too expensive and we were tired of eating grass. We still dont like to drinka lot of milk (I dont really like the way it tastes now anyways) and not a lot of cheese. Vegans arent the worst thing in the world. But they are not the best either.

Vegetarians are a lot less strict. Some eat fish and most eat eggs and stuff

Vegans refuse to eat anything that came from an animal, so milk, eggs, meat, everything.
Some I think go as far as to try and not use anything made from an animal.
