Author Topic: So I see you guys have been stealing my things while I was away.  (Read 4268 times)

I'm not saying my de_dust remake was any good, or that my Counter Stack mod was going to be revolutionary, but I at least take pride in what I've created. Even if it was 4 or 5 years ago.

I lost all my builds a long time ago, which is sad, but I built that loving de_dust map brick by brick so I recognized it immediately when I saw this:

Ok, maybe it's an overreaction. I mean it's based on the same thing, surely there will be similarities. I mean if only I had proof it was a brick-for-brick copy...

You can't see much, but what you can see is clearly identical, except for a few crates and trees. And then to add to that, he took my logo and edited it. Seriously, look at the bottom of his post. Unless he just happened to take a picture of a blockhead in the same exact pose as I did holding an mp5 model that I had commissioned personally for the Counter Stack mod.

So for forgets sake, don't steal my stuff and think I won't notice. I mean if you wanna repost it, share it, I don't give a stuff. But don't take it and then pass it off as your own. That's just stuffty.

image is broken
also who were you before?

Sorry, I guess bayimg doesn't link hotlinking. The link right below it is to the image.

Also I was Tc572 (Still am) but also went by Block Builder among other names (But I never used any variation of "Block Builder")

He mentioned unknown builder in the topic

I don't think any of those people ever really were popular or if they even play Blockland anymore.

It's 2014 and you're pulling up things from 2012 and 2010. By now, nobody cares about those people or what they've stolen.

He mentioned unknown builder in the topic

Ok so he didn't claim it as his own. Except he did, right here:

(Scroll to the bottom. Notice it's "I did it first" and not "Some unknown builder did it first". And he didn't do it first, I did it first)

Well if people are willing to steal things from two years back, I don't see a problem with calling them out two years later. It only seems like a long time to you because it's like half of your life.

The point, if you've failed to grasp it so far, is that even if you're stealing an old, stuffty build, it's still theft. If we don't give theft the attention it deserves, it'll grow until we have to pay attention to it.

Quoth the Maker:

Listen up noobs, saving is here to stay.  If you can't handle someone else playing with your build, grow the hell up.

If you start doing gay stuff to break my game, I'm going to start banning you from the master server.  This is a war you don't want to start because I'm the only one with nukes.

Quoth the Maker:

Yeah but it's annoying when people take your save and say it's theirs.

I'm not trolling, and I'm only gonna come here for Stupid bans, kicks and mutes now.
LIAR

If someone taking your build and claiming as their own bugs you, you need to re-prioritize. The game is marketed around sharing your builds. If you don't like that, do what everyone else has already figured out: hide your name places, hide credits in bricks via events, make a topic SHOWING your work, prove that you made it.

make a topic SHOWING your work, prove that you made it.
I used to do this in the gallery after some starfish took my city build.

That makes them starfishs? Way I see it, they envy your building skills and rather than try to build a crummy city, they just use yours. Sure, it's not the most valiant thing, but in the end you and your friends know you made it.

Seriously, just put your credits all over the place. That's what I do with all of my projects. If I build a tower, you can bet your right testicle that at least 50 bricks have credits on them, with differing events to avoid easy detection

Save events > off

Save events > off
then you'll miss out on places that use events for the build to work
